Clio MK2 1.2 Lost car key, spare not working

  2000 clio grande 1.2
Hi all, last night on the short walk from my car to my house i have managed to misplace or drop my main car key. i gave gutted the house top to bottom and i have followed my footsteps countless times. I reckon they have fell out of my pocket and someone has nabbed them. to make things worse i have found out the chip in my spare is buggered so i can open the car and get the steering lock of but i cant start it. (it just dies after one or two cranks). the car has central locking and it seems it has an imboliser built in. what I'm wondering is can i somehow bypass the imoiliser or do i need new keys cut and do i need to get them programmed?
I have got a good mechanical know how but i know nothing about the workings of imobilisers.
thanks for your time,
Kris

if the key turns the barrel and then tries to turn the car over
it should keep turning even if the imobiliser is acting up
sounds like the battery is fecked if it dies after two turns of the engine

as for the chip in the second key try putting a new battery in it.

No i can crank it on the key but when it fires up it just cuts out. i went to replace the battery and saw that there has been a really dodgey soldering repair to the chip inside. i reckon the chip is popper buggered like.
