Clio Dynamique 1.2 TCE
Hopefully this is the right forum to post in but my post is both about the wheel and a squealing noise unrelated to the wheel.
I have a question about the spare wheel on my clio mk3 dynamique 1.2 turbo. Is it supposed to have a plastic cover so that its not just the bare wheel/tyre showing under the car?
The reason I ask is for the first time in just under a year of owning the car I have looked underneath it because I was getting some wierd squealing sounds from somewhere and I'm a bit worried as to what it could be.
The road was extremely wet and water was spraying up from driving through the puddles onto the windscreen and generally just a lot of surface water on the road.
About 15 minutes into my journey home from work I started hearing a squealing noise and kind of a grating sound so I find somewhere to pull over and take a look, couldnt see anything hanging off the car underneath. So I carried on going home, the road had progressivley less surface water on it and the noise eventually disappeared after another 10 minutes of driving
Completely confused as to what it was, dont think it was the brakes as it was also happening when I was not using the brakes.
I took my foot off of the accelerator to try and be able to hear better where the sound was coming from and the noise continued squealing with a little grating sound, I couldn't isolate the origin of the sound though.
I think it may possibly be the fan belt (if my car has one?), or the clutch?
The car is still under warranty but taking it in and saying it squealed doesnt really give the dealer much to go on especially as its no longer squealing.
Even though the sound has now gone I am worried something maybe wrong with my car, could that be the case does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be or should I no longer worry as the sound has gone?
Thanks for any help.
