Clio on the way, What to do to it?

  Meg 300Cup
I had a fairly mint Fiesta mk4 1.25 until some woman decided to pull out into the side of me a few weeks back, its all being sorted tomorrow but still decided to get a new car.

Im only 17 so not too many options, and of all i think the Clio is the best looking, the best equipped and don't think it has as bad a reputation as the Saxo's (tried a VTR and hated the clutch), 106's (1.1s felt gutless) and Fiesta's.

If asked a friend who owns a garage to look out for a 1.2 Dynamique at the auctions he goes to, and he thinks that he'll find a pretty much mint 04-05 plate with low mileage for about 2.5k, is that reasonable? Sounds pretty good to me.

Want it to be quite a looker as it wont have much power, but dont really know where to start, just dont want to turn it into a chavy boy racer car.

I'd love a nice grumble from a new backbox but not so loud that ill be pulled over every 5 minutes, could i get the raspy sound of a rally car from just a backbox? Ktec Stealth?

The 172 rear bumper looks great and i think ill be picking one of those up asap

What do you all think?

and coming from the fiesta will the clio feel alot less powerful?

Don't put an exhaust on it, just sounds/looks silly on a slow car, I learnt my lesson from the exhaust on my 1.2.

First thing to buy for it, save up and get coilovers and deck it, the rest will flow from there.

This^^ suspension sorted then have some fun with it, no point wasting money on induction kits, exhausts etc on a 1.2

Clio will be a decent compromise from a Fiesta, the 1.25 Fiesta might feel a bit more sprightly as it were but the Clio's are good. I had a Dymanique when i was 17 and it was superb, never once let me down once. I spent money on an outrageous exhaust and some Toora wheels lol  and some under car neons no less haha, outrageous now but slit magnet at the time haha... A good stepping stone to something more tasty... A Citroen C2 GT (6 Years ago) lol....

Whats a sensible amount to lower it and still cope with s**t english roads? lol mods can be done pretty much straight away as i had set myself 4k aside to get the newer clio but decided i like the older one more, which coilovers should i go for?

Cheers

The raceland ones are cheap as chips for the 1.2, dunno if you can still get them on ebay though
