Ryan said the same thing, it was spaced for the dog kennel, it needed pressing back in so the bolt could space it when it went in.

So I actually managed to get the b*stard on!

It only took a professional mechanic to come over on his day off and do it for me.

Sadly no startup, as even with a fully charged jump pack it won't start because the new Nappa battery that went on the dog kennel has shat itself, so a new battery will be ordered tomorrow and I might finally have at least one working car to my name.

I was 90% of the way there, it's just I'm having regular visits to the chiropractor and my lower back was starting to go after I was specifically told not to work on cars, so he came over to do the final 10% of swearing at it.

I got actually got this thing started a few days ago after using the negative jump cable as an extra earth to the chassis, put it in reverse to move it and when I took it out of gear it died.

Went to jump it again but because I was doing it in the dark I got the cables the wrong way round and had sparks fly out the positive battery terminal, it was only for a second or two but I think I've killed the car as it now has a solid red immobiliser light.

I've cleaned the earth strap, took the engine fuses and relays out to clean them but it's still immobilised, I haven't touched the big white plug as I don't know how to remove it without f*cking something else up.

I think I may have fried the uch, any suggestions?

(Other than sell it and give up on cars, which I'll probably do anyway but I need it running first)

F*cking finally!

Immobiliser issue sorted, I blew the 5 amp fuse in the engine bay when I got the jump leads the wrong way round.

Negative lead / earth is a bit of a temperamental c*nt too.

No matter how new my phone is it's always an awkward c*nt that won't do as it's told.
