Clio rivals

Ok peeps im interested to know what cars you think are the clios rivals.

Just put the cars you think are, and nothing else. (yet)

Out of interest, is the Clio classed as a supermini?? Are we talking rivals in terms of performance?? Or just cars in the same class? (whatever that might be!)

*edit* oops just read the first post again.. so..

Punto

Fabia

Corsa

Mini

Clio rivals. simple as that.

A generic clio.

Yes a clio is a supermini.

What joker compared the cup to Punto Sporting? Get Real! Its a tad smaller than the Stilo size wise for starters!

The clio is in the same class "generically" as civics, saxos, 206s, the focus, corsas etc.

Each manufacturer has a car for the class. And theyre hatch backs, not superminis dammit!

Note the winking face, that generally means someones taking the p1ss.;)

Sorry Dutch, you rattled my cage for a second.

I know how laughable the Punto sporting is, Ive beaten them in my 1.4RT! At least when it had its M.I.A K&N induction kit fitted!

The focus is a hatchack. The Megane is a compact saloon. Theyre not really developed for the same market, like the focus and the clio are.

Fords equivalent to the Megane would be the lower end Puma if anything.

kenbot, im sorry mate not saying your wrong or anything but care to explain that last post?

Tom, its easy mate.

The Focus hatch is a hatch. The Megane hatch is a hatch. The Focus saloon is a saloon. The Megane saloon is a saloon. The Focus saloon is not a hatch, and the Megane saloon is not a hatch.

The Puma is has a totally different market.

Have you noticed just how many hairdressing salons there are everywhere.

btw the salon is not a hatch. The hatch is a style you can have in a salon.

OK the Puma Megane thing was a bit off. But the focus and megane are not intended for the same market so cant rival each other!

And saying a Clio is a supermini? The Twingo is renaults supermini, rivaling the Yaris, Matiz, Lupo etc.

Oh right thanks for clearing that up.

But im afraid your wrong.

The twingo is in the city car segment. (along with the lupo, arosa, matiz, 107, c2, aglia etc..)

And the focus and megane are direct competitors.

Megane, Focus, Astra, 307. - all medium sized family cars.

Clio, Fiesta, Corsa, 206. - all super minis!

Ive never seen a Megane Saloon (not the new style anyway). They are all hatches that shake their ass!

The Twingo is a city car, as stated on the Renault website. Just like a Lupo is.

Id much rather have the Lupo, Twingos are proper minging!lol

Word! You are still confusing HATCH BACK and SUPERMINI.

Back me up someone?!?

They are called "mailto:SUPERMINI@S">SUPERMINIS" because they are smaller than "HATCHBACKS"!

twingo is a fantastic car. massively clever monospace design.

the daddy of citycars, esp when equipped with the 1.2 16v.

Ps: Nope im not confused.

Supermini & Citycar = same thing
No, they arent.

Two very diffrent sectors, which price wise can crossover at points.

But they arent the same at all.
