Clio RT Immobiliser

Hi

Im on the brink of buying a clio 1.4rt K (92) however both times i went to look at the car at the garage, both blokes had trouble finding where the immobliser is? Theres a key ring fob that you move around the dash to deactivate the immobiliser before you can start the engine. Does anyone know where abouts the sensor is, as it took them a few times before they could get it to deactivate

Thanks

Dazz

But thats to override it completly I think.. only for when you dont want it on, ever. Could be wrong?

I dont have a key on mine - you HAVE to have it on.. so dunno.

Are you sure mate? My 91 rt deactivates the imob at the same time as the alarm and central locking when you press the keyfob at the car. You should hear a beep and its deactivated everthing ( a double bleep is armed). The only reason you should be doing anything around the dash is if it has a 3rd party imob fitted.

If you really want to deactivate the alarm and imob for ever (well until you turn in back on again) you need to pop the bonnet and look under the little left access panal thats near windscreen. Just lift it up and look towards the back you should see a black box with a key hole in it. There should be a key you put in there and turn. My manual says its in the glove compartment but it wasnt.

my 1993 rt is in the glovebox, it says in the manuel that they can have various types, one in the glovebox, one under the dash and one under the bonnet!

If its a gold key or small key, theres a lock in the glovebox which switches it on and off. Theres also a lock under the bonnet as well.
