Clio Speaker Interfearance

This might be old news to most of you, but ive had 2 Clios now and the same flipin speaker hissis. Must be an interferrance with a power cable somewhere. IS THERE A QUICK FIX?

1) Swap the speakers over (right to left and left to right). Does the same speaker still hiss of does the one that didnt hiss now hiss?


If the same speaker still hisses, check connections or replace the speaker.
2) If the other speaker now hisses, check the cabling from the back of the head unit down to the speaker.

Speaker wires do not usually get interference from other cables because they contain a pretty high level signal themselves.

Yeah changed to a new speaker & still happens so it MUST be power interferrance; no1 else had this problem with a Mk1 Clio?

check the wires havent got damaged or rubed through anywhere

do you have an amp? if the power cable for the amp is next to the speaker cables it could cause a little interference.

if yu dont have an amp then try wiring a new section of cable from the head unit to the speaker, perhaps using a different route to the route their now.

look into a ground loop isolator, i think this helps with a hissing problem but im not 100%

you may find that the hiss is coming from radio frequency. the speaker that is hissing may have its output from the head unit close to the arial input, which could cause a little interference, as far as i am aware there is nothing you can do to stop that if that is the case.
