Mk2 1.2 Campus
Right, this is really getting to me now, it's getting worse.
I bought a clio about 3 months ago and drove it home no problem, next day I go to drive it and it won't start. When I put the key in and turn it to ignition the dash lights come on as normal apart from the immobiliser light in the middle, it flashes fast and the car will only turn over, won't actually fire. I locked and unlocked the car and the car started after a few times of doing this.
Since then the car ran fine till the past 2 weeks, it's been doing it more and more when I go to start. It takes more and more times of locking, unlocking and turning the key to make it start then eventually the light will stay on permanent till you start it.
Last sunday I attempted to pull it out of the garage and it refused to start at all, I gave in in the end. I left it then when I got home monday it started up no problem.
I spoke to the dealer and he said no problem, bring it down and we'll check what the problem is, and for their troubles they'll only bill me 1 hours labour at £85 + VAT not exactly a bargain. After that they can establish if I need a key, they said it'll be £110 + VAT for the key then £44 + VAT to code it.
Surely there must be another way around this, I really don't want to spend that much on this when I could easily go out an buy a full CAT 1 alarm for similar money.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to listen, I've had about enough of it and need it sorted before I start driving it again.
Thank you
Dave
