Only way I've found to get hold of these is a replacement steering wheel, which is less than ideal

common problem, my 172 had a new steering wheel on 46k under warranty, but is a bummer if you have no warrantly.

Cliospares should be able to get you a second hand Mk1 or Mk2 172/182 steering wheel and any other sport parts anybody needs.

I retrimmed my MK1 1600 with a 172 interior 4 years ago....for very cheap!
