Clio Sport V6 Replica

  White Evo V
Right, Im wanting to turn my 172 into a v6 replica. Its a 2002 model ph2. Im just wondering if the doors, Front wings, bumpers, Sideskirts will fit straight on?
Also Anybody know where I can get some fiberglass rear quarters from?
Im a qualified panel beater and painter so work isnt a problem I just need to know if the parts will fit?
Also does anyone know of a place where I can source 2nd hand bits from? I want to use genuine renault doors and wings.

  RS Meg 175
dont do it! it will look pants, and will cost loads to make it look good! and you will look stupid when ppl look in the back of your car and see seats lol

on another note, there are loads of panels on eBay atm

  Clio 172mk2
if its done proporly with original renault parts should look allright , but make sure u get the wheel spacers right other wise it will look sh*t. some one on here can supply all parts but i forget who

  172 cup'd extreme
parts are like rocking horse shite also new parts a mega bucks the wheels need to be spaced out about 4 inches
the vee is slightly longer so it wont look right on a 172.

  Turbos.
I think if you really want a quality job done then you'd spend as much as swapping your 172 for a Vee in the first place...

As has already been said, dont bother. If you want a Vee get one dont waste alot of time and money turning the car into a crap copy. If you want widebody looks and have deep pockets get a genuine S1600 kit instead. It'll look better and be alot more original.

yeah go for a 1600 kit (prima racing maxi kit)

Have you got a private plate on your car?

Where do I get that 1600 kit? also is that a copy or the proper thing? would mine look like that? are they fiberglass panels or proper ones that you buy?

  172
why why why? Get yours chopped in for a phase 1 V6, going for around £12k.

As mentioned will get ribbed when people asked where the engine is, it will lose value when you come to sell it and when/if you crash it it will cost a fortune in parts, i remember reading somewhere that the wings alone cost £300ish new each! Someone confirm this?

Look at that c**p....can spot it's not a V6 from a long way off due to the lack of air scoops on the rear quarters.

Don't do it

It's not supposed to be a V6 kit its a (poor) copy of the Renault S1600 kit made by Prima racing. The genuine one is better but you need deep pockets.

To answer the original question yes the panels will go straight on. The issue you will have is that not only the width of the track on the V is different but the length of the wheelbase. So even if you do fit spacers and massively wide wheels they wont be positioned correctly and will look s**t. If you want it to look like a V get one rather than shelling out a shitload on a poor copy. I wouldnt touch any of the copy kit's you can get as none of them look right and OE panels from Renault are silly money so unless you can cobble together a full set from breakers at sensible money it's going to cost.

it will cost £7.5K+vat for genuine pannels

the wheelbase is longer on the v6 it will never look right

Doors - 164.03
wings - 332.75 thats the prices form renault.

Look guys im deadly serious bout this. Im taking out a loan of £1000 and want to spend it on v6 panels, some new, some used. i just need the wings, quarter panels, doors, bumpers and sideskirts.

I like the look of the 1600 and it would be easier but where do you get the quarters, wings and bumpers from? Anyone got any pics of it from the rear?

My plans are an st orange v6 replica or 1600 replica.

As a number of people have mentioned above the V6's wheelbase is lonber.

So the Kit may fit but the wheels will not sit in the centre of teh archs.

try Primas website for more in fo on teh S1600 Replica kit.

thats already been done anyway...

seriously DO NOT DO IT... total waste of money...you WILL regret it and people won't be impressed by it unless it's parked up outside Maccy D's at midnight and they will only be impressed cos they don't know what it is....

Right people, Looked into this for weeks now. Decided not to do it, I want the original v6 panels as fiberglass is w**k, and if they all wont fit then thats a no go. The 1600 kit is all fiberglass so thats also a no go. I have decided to just leave it as it is but paint it ST orange. Il be starting it on thu 28th dec. Il get some pics up as soon as its done. Should be done and finished before the beginning of jan.

Should be interesting although i'd be inclined to do white, cup racer style if you are doing a colour change. Some black rims, black door mouldings, coilovers and a carbon bonnet and it'd look different.

  White Evo V
oooo didnt kno the proper v6 kit was fiberglass!! n e way. na decided its too much work. just the ST ornage will make it stand out enough. Thanks for your help ppl!

if you do decide to do it, atleast paint it a genuine colour if want a replica as ford ST orange wouldnt be a replica would it?...

but as most have said its not worth it but it can be done

  Racing Blue 182
there was a good v6 replica done useing genuine renault body parts, done by an audio company.

The wheels sat in the arches properly on this one?
