Clio Wheel Nuts

  120d M-Sport
How f**king shite are they! Was getting some wheel wobble at 50mph so thought i should check them, passenger wheel 1 of the nuts seemed to be loose so i started tightening it. Next minute it snapped clean off :|

So great rolling on 3 wheel nuts cos half a bolt is now stuck in the hub. How safe is this? And if i check the remaining 3 nuts daily to see if there tight will it be ok for the remainder of this month as im changing car at the end of the month to bmw (im done with clios)

This is the 2nd hub this car has fucked, the passenger wheels already fell off on me once 11 months ago!

I give up! :dapprove:

Wheel nuts? Are you tourquing the bolts up properly? are they OE? This shouldn't happen on a car at all. The only time any of mine come loose is when on a trackday due to the bolts heating and cooling.

I assume these are the standard Renault items? The ones that come with Delta Mic hubcentric spacers are made from cheese.

I've got some spare grayson wheel bolts from tweeks, bought 16 but forgot about locking wheel nuts. Can send it up to you if you like. Pm me if you want

Hi guys cheers for all the replies.

The tyre was actually only changed 2weeks ago at Hyde Road Tyres. And they put the bolts back on with there gun. The car was feeling wobbley these past few days so i checked them last night to find 1 was loose, tried tightening it and it just snapped clean off lol.

My bro came round to my house today and stripped it down to the hub and managed to get the remainder of the bolt out with a flat head screwdriver and hammer (it was hanging out the hub by 1 thread luckily!)

Now just got to live with the bust suspension shock i have on the passenger wheel lol.

Be prepared to see a Iceburg 172 breaking at the beginning of next month!

Thank you very much littlegh for the offer but it should be fine now until its in pieces!

Cheers guys! :approve:

EDIT: To anyone who still has the standard nuts then please consider getting stronger ones. My wheel fell off on me last year at 30mph and snapped all the nuts into the hub, wasnt a nice experience to have while driving and wouldnt wish it upon anyone! And after what happened last night i dont trust them at all anymore.

Thanks :)
