Clio will not unlock

Hi.

Have a clio 1.2 1998...
When I press the button on my key fob it will not unlock (car is central locking with imoboliser)

What could be the cause?

also will the imoboliser light flash if a fuse has gone

could be key battery, or what happened to mine the little button on the circuit board inside the key broke off! Luckily I fixed it myself cuz keys are expensive.

Sorry about taking so long to reply I was at work
On my key fob, when I press the button I can see the light flashing, but it will not unlock the doors... so I think the key fob is working?

i'll ask it later when I get back to it see if it works, come 2 think of it I was quite nasty, I did say "open u t**t" - maybe it does not like been abused haha

My key did this also, the thing is after a while the key wouldnt switch the imobiliser off when i was in the car so had to have a whole new key and it had to be programed, its best to ask the stealers before it gets to that stage as they might just reprogram the key for you.

TRY PUTTING THE FOB CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSCREEN AND PRESSING THEN.MAYBE BATTERY IN FOB IS LOW?

I do as above !!!!When i brought my clio it only had one key !!!

well i've replaced the battery in the fob - no luck...
How much are you looking at to re-program the fob and also could it just be a problem with the actual central locking/alarm system in the car?

How do u get into it? Only way to brake window??

you know this thing called a keyhole in the door? you'll see that the key has a long blade, insert this into lock and turn....hey presto, its open

except that when you put this key into this keyhole - it does not open it just spins 360 degrees and the boot does not open either without the central locking

lol its ok it was quite funny to be honest lol

Its a complete t**t this not been able to get into it - and even worse I don't know if its the car or the fob... No way into the car at all

All I can do is break the window, pay for that, then pay for the repair of whatever the problem is

I can see a few hundred pounds cost here :dapprove:

no mate i think the rac can get into cars and shizzle without breakin windows and that and they may charge u to do it if ya r unlucki i no someone who got it done for free

I don't have breakdown cover - how much do you reakon they will charge for coming out and getting into it?

My car will not unlock by key, driver side door spins 360 degrees, passenger door turns 90 degrees and the boot key section just comes out?

Is this how the clios are designed?

Or is mine a piece of s**t lol
