the clucth cable was changed before i picked it up from where i bought it. so when i had it serviced at a renualt dealer i asked them to check it out they first said that it was a little heavy but should be alright the same mechanic took it out when i droped it off for its service and said that withen that period it had got a lot worse but the quote for fixing it was a bit scary even with them doing a really good discount on the labour they charge. so thinking of doing it myself with a mate so trying to find as much info as possible
£840 is bloody shocking, greasing the fork pivot will only temporarily solve it.
best option is
all from a mk2 clio clutch fork
plate that bolts through clutch cable hole on gearbox
plastic pivot cap from behind the fork(slightly bigger than the ones fitted to jb3 and jc5 boxes)
clutch release bearing
get them from a scrappie or the stealers, it will make the clutch a load better! not as heavy.
shame you live so far away i would have done it for you for a few beer tokens
