Clio1.6/VTR

Well im thinking here. I love clios. if i could turn my gf into one i prolly would. But im thinking. When i buy a new car ill be 19 and itll cost me £1200 to insure me on a '03 1.6 clio. So i can afford a 1.6, but i was thinking again, what other "1.6l" cars could i look at ?

Rob's172 reccomended me a VTR (whichever was the fastest) from personal experience. theyre a lot lot cheaper and prolly faster too. Only downside is it's s**t brakes, but that could be chaged and the other problem is the wheel arch seems to stick right out where the accelerator is. so i forever hit the damm pedals. Also, i find that the car's interior is horse s**t and i dont like it.

So what else could i look at which has a 1.6 and is within the £5500 mark ?

VTR's are the best 1.6 IMO. thought about a Zetec-s?

You can get a relatively new honda civic 1.6 for that kind of money easily.

thought about getting a ibiza 130tdi. they are rappid and insurance sim to VTR/C1.6

Imperial Blue Zetec S, insurance group 7 too. VTR's are fun, but flimsy as anything, the interiors are horrendous, also do you really want to go from a 16v to an 8v!?

yeah. clios are nice, in and out. will have to stick with a clio. you selling yours yet/sold yours yet ?

wish i had 5k spare mate. gunna need to pay the £1000 remaining on my car which should take a few months yet then im gunna need to save a hefty bit of cash. Ive also got my eye on the flame red dynamique but it doesnt come with the lowering springs/coilovers, so if yours comes as it is (respecting you might want to put the dynamique alloys back on) then id definatly be interested.

If you plan on selling it towards the end of the year (november/december time) then make sure you let me know. ill gladly take it off you depending on the mileage (itd have to be 55K+ for me to think twice and even then i may still be interested. tis a right beast of a car.

Dont get a VTR, they fall to bits every time you put your foot down, my mate got rid of his VTR to get a 1.6 dynamique (its -JB- on this forum, i converted him! lol) He loves his Clio loads more than he did his saxo.

The 1600 clios are good but the short box sucks in 2nd. Takes 3rd gear to hit 60
