clio172 mk1. Gearchange probs.

Hey Lads.

I have a problem with my clio, when i drive and give it some slack, and goes from 1. gear into 2. gear, I can hear the gearbox going, GRACK....

And when i go from 3. into 2. It does the same some times

What can I do, Renault says its because the car is getting "old" its a 2000 model, and have done 70.000km... Do any of U guys and girls have these problems ?

Yes im on my third gearbox! It seems the gearboxes on these are rubbish, and dont take lots of spirited changes. Both replaced under warranty.......

had mine replaced too!!! was the syncro mesh that was at fault so may want to get your garage to have a look at that.

has anyone out there got a clio cup with gearbox problems my son bought one new sept 2002 its had 2 gearboxes already the car has broken down in brighton tonite with box gone again also drivers window has fallen out of runner
