Clio192 ???

Hey people

Currently driving a C2 VTS cracking motor but not quite quick enough for me, been looking around so long for a decent part-ex for a 182 but it seems my car has devalued too much to justify the extra cash on a used 182.

Having now seen the the New Clio ads and brochure, any ideas when the new ClioSport models are released?

My local dealer reckoned around next summer, possibly with a turbo version though wasn't sure on prices etc (as if dealers have a clue anyway) so thought I'd ask all you Clio enthusiasts.

Also, how much do you think the current 182 might drop in price when the new sport versions are released?

Cheers

Hello, and Welcome.

As far as I know there's no confirmed reports on the engine spec of the new RenaultSport Clio.

You can get 182s / 172s so cheap now; but no doubt they'll drop more when the new RS Clio arrives.

Though someone said 17k for the new one! Hmm Cheap :(

Go to the Renaultsport site. Jeremy, the brand manager for Renaultsport frequently posts on there and is very helpful. Also if you do a search you'll find lots of info on the forthcoming 2006 Renaultsport Clio

Welcome to Cliosport.

The new one does't have a Turbo.

I know it sounds like a stupid reply to this but are you sure?
They've havent officially given "fact" specs yet have they? and with it being heavier too they just might consider putting the megane sport engine in it, you never know!?? ;)

Jeremy (uk brand manager for the clio) has 100% confirmed the new RS clio WON'T be turbocharged

its a development of the current F4R engine with 197bhp(ish)

yeah they may be a bugger when they go wrong but who buys a £17K hot hatch to be cheap!

No one! in all fairness. Plus no turbo lag would make me smile anyways :D

Shame theres gonna be no V6 version though :(

But 197bhp so that would be 200PS or there abouts roughly. Sounds about right. Shoud be rptty rapid still with the 6 speed box probably just as quick as the 172/182.

Pity it doesn't have a Turbo. The new Cooper S (in 2007/8) is gonna be turbo charged so a visit to revo and them buggers will be running 300bhp no doubt.

It might be a list price of £17k but the 182 list price is £15.5k or so with both suspension and spoler packs which most people opt for, so its not a huge increase.
The Mini is a different price range to the Clio it might be a similar size but base price is £19k and then i think most peopel add about £2k onto that for a normal car and there no discount realy so there a £8k price difference from the more nrmal 182 price of £13k. Even if the new cars discounted less to just £15.5k then there still over 5k price difference.
