Clunking/knocking when accelerating

My 172 seems to be knocking when accelerating in 1st/2nd. Is this the common failing gear box mounts i have seen a lot of people talking about on here? Any recommendations on what to replace them with,ie uprated or standard and where is the best place to buy them?? Cheers

Probs the dogbone mount by experience.. standard bushes are approx £20, whilst uprated are around £40 for powerflex.

Take your battery out and check that the gearbox mount bolts havent worked loose.

I had the same symptoms as you've described and that was my problem - tightened em up and resolved the problem init.

took the battery off and you could see where the mount has been moving/scratching away. cheers FAST_aD13,saved me a few quid =0)
