clunking sorta noise

could anyone suggest a reason for a clunkin noise whenever i turn the steering wheel left or right. it seems to only happen on the left side. i took the top cap off and gave it a wee turn and it still makes it. tightened it back on again and it still happens. it also sort of sounds like its catching on soemthing then vibrating through the spring, as it echoes, if you know what i mean.

anything would be appreciated!

could be the strut-top knocking issue. If you do a search there's loads of threads about it

yea i read all them ages ago, but do they not just lift the rubber cap off the body? caue that doesnt help it. only started the last couple of days.. cheers though

Top bearing maybe failing.

hmm ill check it out.are they able to be replaced by me or have to take it to a garage?
