Clutch biting point

  Red Clio 172 MK2
On mine (it might be the same with most Clio's) the biting point is allll the way up at the top, so in other words, to engage the gear when you've pressed it down you've got to release the clutch nearly to the top before the gear kicks in.

It's just a bit annoying. Would prefer the biting point to be much lower.

Is there a quick fix to change it?

Taaa

depends on how its been driven really, probably possible to adjust the clutch cable to alter the biting point though.

I got into a Volvo (on it the biting point is right at the bottom) the other day and nearly launched into another car.

I'm no mechanic but could it be the rachet on the clutch pedal that needs adjusting, or maybe as already has been said maybe its just worn.

Yeah I think it's high to start with , every one I've drove has it high. You can get it adjusted though as far as I know.

Yeah you have to bring my clutch on me clio right up as well, mine has done bang on 33000miles, and on my brothers clio which is a bit older you have to bring the clutch right up aswell so its just how Clios are I think.

my current clutch has only done 1,500 miles and my bite point is quite far down.

the clutch cables adjust themselfs on MK2's not sure about other models but you can still manualy adjust them iirc.
