clutch change

Has anyone ever changed a clutch before? mine needs changing and i fancy doing it myself, i have a load of new suspension stuff to fit, so thought i would have a play while im in there getting greasy.

Its good fun, not a bad job but plenty of stuff needs to come out first to get the box off.

well all of the suspension will be off, so will the brakes and the wishbones. im only guessing that you would get at it through the wheel arch. im guessing you have done one, did you use a manual?

Nope subframe needs dropping, can either undo the two rack mounting bolts where it bolts to the subframe and leave the rack on the car or undo the steering column pinch bolt and drop it with the frame.

My preference would be the leave it with the car so as not to put any stress on the pas hoses, bolts are a bit fiddly. You can apparently do it by just lowing the subframe but i've always just dropped it off for the extra effort needed imo.
