Clutch Grinding/Smelling HELP

I have recently aquired a clio phase 1 172 and it has developed a problem when im trying to pull away and lift up the clutch to the bite there is a gridning noise and the clutch starts to smell really bad it sometimes grinds going into other gears also but not if i doube clutch, do i need a new clutch or what? So confused help

Almost definately need a new clutch and with it grinding into gears you may as well get the box inspected for damage whilst it's off.
