Clutch issuie PH1 172.

  Clio 2.0 RS 172 Ph1
If I sit at a standstill with the handbrake on, put the car into first gear with the clutch pedal fully depressed. If I then rev the engine even with the clutch pedal fully depressed the car will try to creap forward as if the clutch is not fully engaging.
I am thinking clutch cable? anyone experienced this and know the cause?

  PH1 loads of boost!
Get a friend to press the clutch while you watch it inside the engine bay to make sure it's pulling properly. Might be the cable is streched.

Even if the cable has stretched the self adjusting mechanism on the pedal shoululd correct that!

Check there is no teeth missing on it. If its ok i reckon if its on the original clutch the release bearing has worn into the pressure plate hence not disengaging properly.

I shamefully took part in a traffic light GP last night which is where i noticed it (was a jokey scenario with some posh people in an audi rather than me being a dick). On a side note as i dropped the clutch I seemed to get more in the way of clutch slip than a decent get away (although I did bolt off) and the clutch stunk for a good hour after. If i put it in 5th whilst stationary give some revs and feed the clutch in it will stall so there must me some meat on there still?
