Clutch on its way out!!!!!

  172 , looking for a 4x4 !
Hi,ive never had a clio before but , i`m sure the clutch is on its way out due to the smell!!!
Theres is no slipping but when i start to lift clutch theres sort of a shhhhhhh sound until its moving then i cant hear if it happens in other gears due to the engine noise.
The smell is not always there but ive been told they are hydraulic clutches with no adjustment.
I am not concerned as it has done half a dozen track days on the clutch that was in the car which may have done the 88k on the clock,i dont know.
It was fine until a shed load of spirited driving showing a GT3CS how id keep up with it once id LET it pass on a straight!!

Any thoughts and if as suspected there is no chance of anything but a new clutch then whats the best for track use??

Cheers

Liam

There not hydralic, clutches are cable. If you lift out the air box you can see it.

I think they are self adjusting, there is a ratchett thing by the clutch pedal.

Ahh right so i may as well just give up being a scrooge and go for a new clutch rather than mess about!!!

Are organic ones any good??

I'm also interested in this... not sure whetehr to bother as I will be in traffic alot so don't exactly want to look like a tit setting off kangaroo style... Would OEM be alright for say ITBs in the future (220-240bhp say) just future proof tuning is what I like.

I'm no expert, i just have a vague knowledge of almost everything on 1*2s as nearly everything broke on my old one.

Don't think there is anyway of manually adjusting them though.

I'm not sure if mine is getting ready for a new one, occasionaly when I set off quickly theres a kind of screech that comes from the engine bay area so I'm wondering if it's the clutch or would it be engine mounts?
