clutch problem - squealing/whistling sound

ok got my clutch changed around 5000 miles ago as the preassure pad had gone and the clutch release bearing (i think) was whistling/squealing when dippin the clutch i.e. coasting and for like 1 sec after letting go of the accelerator.

so anyway changed to uprated ktec clutch kit, whish is just a better pressure pad.. clutch release bearing the same etc.

now clutch has been fine ever since fitted, but now recently ive started foin a lot longer drives meaning car is a lot warmer and guess what that whistling/squealing sound is back.. was it the clutch release bearing firs time? or something else?

how do i fix it? it was a brand new cllutch fitted, shudnt do it! its starting to do it on any drive over 30 mins and or if u jst red line it in 2nd third and fourth.. i.e. wen eveything is hot..

what could it be? how could i get rid of it? as its annoying on long drives , its really loud.. also wen i went on a 4 hour drive it came after 1 hour really bad and loud, i ignored it and carried on and 1.30misn later it went and neva came back for rest of the jorney and that was driving at same speed. its strange, came bak next day tho, so my thort of it self fixing had gone lol, some one help. its pissin me off

Sounds like it isnt the clutch then if thats been changed. What gearbox oil grade are you using? Possibly if the oil is getting to hot in the system its not doig it job when it hits over its temp rating. Try some 75/80 or 75/90 and see what results you get.

well i got them to put in

Silkolene SILKTRAN SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-850-silkolene-silktran-syn-5-75w-90-fully-synthetic-gear-oil.aspx

so the oil is good quality? dunno why it does this..

however manual recommends 75/80

but tbh gearbox does feel different with this oil, as when cold its hard to get it in first and second however when warm all gear changes are smoother

should i just get my mate to put in the normal gear oil he uses? and see if it fixes it? (not sure what it is like but had it in for 7 days when he changed clutch and it was fine however didnt cover long distances so wouldnt know if it was same)

no doesent sound like an oil issue. (if you have checked the level)
Does it make noise when you have your foot off the clutch (normal driving) If so then I don't think it can be the release bearing.

are you even sure it's from that side of the engine bay? A tensioner/pulley of the aux or cambelt will make a squeal (but always at a pitch proportional to engine revs)

Do you use the clutch footrest? or just rest up your foot on the pedal.

Can you better discribe the noise and how the pitch changes with car speed or engine speed?

hi mate, nah it doesnt do it at normal driving i.e when foot is off the clutch. it does it for a sec when u let go off accelerator.

and then constantly when clutching down or coasting.. but only happens when car is really warm

sound doesnt change at revs or engine speeds, its same, however louder or more noticable when car is extra hot .. like redlining it and then driving normal say at 30mph itll be really noticable until cooled down a bit..it was bugin me other day as i work bout 20miles away so i got in let car warm up and it seemed fine.. hit 5.5k in 2nd third and 4th and it started doing it again for rest of journey home..

what does the cl;utch release bearing actually do? wont die on me the car will it? and clutch wont go will it?

if not, ill drive it till it gets worse..

if so, am i best getting clutch changed?

any chance of it being gearbox? as its had a hard 80,000 miles lol bt doubt it, neva had a problem wiv it except when cold which isnt a biggie

i got a funny feeling the pressure pad was not compatible with the release nbearing as the one that came with the uprated kit didnt fit as the bearing was different and my fork wouldnt fit on it, howver when speaken to ktec they said the bearing was standard renault so to find out from them what gearbox i have in my car and get the bearing from renault .. after all that is done we relaise the holes on the pressure pad dont match up, so got a mate who is an engineer to re drill and match holes up lol so this clutch has been in for 3 months and the bearing is making a noise.. anyone else think i should just get a genuine renault clutch fitted, would it solve it?

then again come to think of it , the noise was hapning b4 the clutch was replaced which made me change it in first place as preassure pad was getting weak 2. but when we took bearing out it seemed ok, well thats what mechanic said.. could they be anything else damaging the bearing?
