clutch replacement

  death trap
hi people, im good with mechanical stuff but think im gonna struggle, any 1 got a step by step or some pics of how to do this?
i no its a case of dropping subframe, draining the g box oil, taking out the n/s d shaft and removing the gear box to change it but pics would be helpful :)

its a 2003 1.2 16v btw
thanks

On that note, I'm not actually sure if there's a 1.2 16v clutch replacement, I'll just go check...

Edit: We don't actually have a guide for that, but it sounds like you're about right on the method. I'm not sure on the 1.2 if you can get away without dropping the subframe, and just squeezing it out.

I think you can just drop the one side of the subframe on the bolts by about 30mm and you can then push the box into the wheel arch just enough to get to the clutch.

I'm more than Likly to give it a go my self because garages are speaking telephone numbers to me as prices, how many hours, blood, sweat and tears are we talking, just so I can get my self prepared lol

Me and a friend did my 172 (2.0) in about 7 hours total. My first time ever doing something like that but TBH it wasn't THAT complicated.

Where are you from? A specialist on here may be able to give you a good price?

I looked into this on my 172 this week and the book says its almost an 8 hour job. I'm considering having a go myself too.
