I'm convinced my clutch is not disengaging (is that the correct word) enough when i press the clutch pedal, i know these are cable operated and self adjusting, but is the anyway of manually adjusting the cable to?

You would know if it wasn't disengaging as you'd never be able to have the car idle and stay still you'd have to keep moving everywhere.

The adjustment is altomatic via the ratche thingie.

Have a look at the pedal ratchet system and you'll see the problem assuming its not broken(common Mk1 problem) then you'll see its not adjustable realty
I take it you have a standard Renault cable as aftermarket ones are rubish.
you could always put spacers in the clutch fork bit but you shoulnd't need to ever.
