172 Cup
hey all!! this may sound daft but will a 172 clutch fit a normal 2000 clio ???
thnx
its not really red lining that wears them its when you take up drive or change gear. eg-holding on the biting point, slipping it when changing gear, hard gear changes etc. when you booting it then the clutch is engaged so even though it is under strain its locked so no slipping which produces most of the wear. excessive slipping also causes the clutch to get hot which can make it slip as it glazes over and loses it friction properties. ive changed a few clutches where the linings have a lot of material left on them but they slip like mad because the clutch linings have gone really shiny and the flywheel surface blue which indicates its got very hot. it would cost about £100 and then the parts on top of that.Quote: Originally posted by CUPPY on 20 May 2004
