Coil Pack changed, light still on

Had a coil pack go. Was misfiring badly.
Had to drive it for just over a week before I could replace it (no money for parts)
Engine management light came on when it went.
Changed the dodgey coil pack today.
The light is still on.

Could there be more damage?
Will it go out on its own?

I'm sure last time I had a coil pack go the light went out on its own, but that time I was able to replace it immediately

Remove the battery for an hour. Then reconnect it, assuming that the new coil pack fixed the misfiring problem.
It may reset it.

yes it drives fine now will try that tommorrow.

How much did you drive it? You can kill the cat with all the unburnt fuel going down the exhaust.

about 100 miles.
Had no choice had no money and no way to get to work without car.

if your concerned, you could just get an emmissions test done at a mot garage.
