mines a 1.4 i get 40 to 45mpg
You will damage the cat a bit people drive round for loads of miles though with broken ones with no problem you could always unplug the injectro its the easy option.Did you drive yours much when it f**ked up? I have been told there is a risk of damaging the cat if you drive it too far. Mine only got driven 1/4 of a mile and limped her home.
It should be stable to well over 120 mine always has been. Get the trackign checked the ting bit out makes a difference at high speed.Well for a 1.6 she is pretty nifty yes. I don't boot her, just put my foot down abit once in a while. I dont want to rag her out. I did do abit of a test not long after I had run her in abit (around 3000 miles) and had her showing 125pmh on the clock. She was abit scarey and unstable though, but that was with the original Renault suspsension. That has since been changed. She's pretty stable at 120 though.
1.6 is quicker plus has more low end power which is handly.ace the 1.4 is supost to be bit faster at picking up speed just wondered if it was true
40mpg blimy that axcellent I've got less out of a diesel before now. Anything over 30mpg in a petrol means I've been on best behaviour. That's pretty good. I think my 1.4 used to do roughly 40 mpg, but I was a little unkind to her and ragged her quite abit.
What light comes on if the cat is playing up then?
The engine management lower right hand side of the instrument panel might on your although it should be the emmisions light in the centre of the panel.
Theirs a sensor before the cat and one after it and if the gas has the same carbon monoxide content before it goes in the cat as when it comes out it knows it knackered
Its French electrics though so doesn't always do what it says on the tin
i cannae be arsed to read the whole topic, but the coils are supposed to be replaced in pairs.
pencil coils. generally only 1 goes. but they should be replaced in pairs, like 1+4 2+3.
