Coilovers Vs Seperate Springs and Dampers

i was just thinking is it worth saving up for a bit longer and getting some coilovers?

just wondering a couple of things,

is it worth the extra cost
will they annoy me with day to day driving (ride being too firm)
also will having them wear out any other parts faster?

Which ones are the best to go for, dont really want to spend over 1k
best value for money is what im after

any help would be great

Yes it is if you get the right kit. They wont be firmer depending on the kit you get. lowering a car with any type of kit may cause parts to wear quicker due to the height.

you can get H&R's for sub 1k easily, no pissing about with damping adjustment, well made and great ride quality.

So is it definetley H&R coilovers that i should go for - are there any variants that are more suitable than others

a coilover is a spring and damper aswell. How hard the suspension is, is down to spring rates and damping. Good quality coilovers will allow the car to be lowered to a height you want and IMPROVE the ride quality. If the ride quality is reduced to a point where the car is uncomfortable to drive IMO they should go in the bin.
