Coilpacks mk1 v6

One or maybe more of mine have just gone today.

Cars running lumpy, lacks power and sounds like an impreza. It's a common problem with mk1 v6's, I know and they just need replacing.

My questions are...

1) How much are they?
2) Where from? Renault?
3) How easy to fit? I know the ones under the inlet mani would not be easy but are the others DIY jobbies?
4) Can I still drive the car (slowly)? I've got to get to work 2moro which is a 15 mile trip.

I need it doing ASAP because i'm possibly selling the car this coming weekend.

Thanks for any advice,

Chris

With renaults diagnostic check tool can they tell exactly which coil has gone? So if it's one easily accessible then I can replace it or if they tell me it's one under the inlet mani then i'll probably have to get them to do it.

Renault are your best bet no idea on price there seprate probably £30 or so.
Easy to fit I'll see if I've got a guide on where they are etc.

I think I know mate, i've got to take off the covers, take off the 3.0 plastic cover and they are near the front of the car (nearest the seats).

There's 3 under the inlet manifold which I won't be able to get at without taking it off. I just hope its not one of those.

£38 labour on the diagnostic tool (half an hour's labour apparently)
£41 for the coil

I pray its not under the inlet manifold.

Very common fault - you dont need to take it to Renault. Simply remove the engine cover and disconnect each coilpack one at a time whilst the engine is running. When you remove the good coilpacks the engine tone will lower causing a misfire - when you remove the lead going to the faulty coilpack the engine tone will remain the same. Change that coilpack. The car will be safe to drive.
