  Clio Sport 172
well i have a plan to take me acustic valve off and im wanting some CAF but im unsure which to get.

can i get some from either arnold lavors, b&q, homebase, Focus, or Wickes?

also what size do i need?

cheers
si

Space it still quite tight so the hoses need to be durable. Some people have managed to fit 75mm hose down the side, not sure how as I found 60mm difficult enough. The flimsy hoses from diy stores may not be able to sqeeze in the space without deforming. The original 50mm hose for the lower intake was all crumpled, it is extremely tight, I doubt you'd be able to get anything bigger than 50mm in that space.

The BMC hose I have were £8 and the pipercross was a spare item in my garage from another car, that was about £20 from halfords if I remember correctly. It also came with 2 alloy air trumpets which I've used for both modded intakes. The venairsport items are supposed to one of the best, but are expensive.

so if i get a 60mm one it will fix to the bit of the old caf?? like you have done in the first pic

60mm was a tight fit (really tight!) but had a look on the venairsport site and they do a 63mm which would be perfect. Get some jubilee clips to fix it on the the original plastic fitting.

nice ill try and get some cheep then. what about the other pipe cant i use whats left from the 1meter 63mm one?

The plastic fitting for the bottom intake is 50mm and space is tight under the airbox. The original hose was pretty squashed under there. The new 50mm alloy hose is rigid enough to stay in shape and not distort.

Oh and one other thing. The plastic fitting for the side intake pointis upwards slightly in the original factory install. I have the fitting upside down pointing downwards instead into the space in the wing for the modification to keep the intake as straight as possible.

Yes the factory furry hose is glued on and a b1tch to take off!. sorry, what I meant was the plastic bit of the old caf which clips into the airbox and the bit you;ll fix the new hose to. You'll see when you come to fit it.

'Proper' cold air feeds rot or tare in time so avoid.

Much better with the tin foil type of ones from Homebase etc

Im running a 100mm (4 inch) on my ph1. Had to re-locate the horns to make it fit.
