Engine - Cosworth GAA - 3412.9cc - double overhead camshaft v6
Developing 464 bhp at 8,750 rpm - 300ib.f at 7,000 rpm.
Specialist builder - Broadspeed Engineering Limited
This car was built by Broadspeed in 1973 for Ford Motor Co. Ltd. to
Ford Cologne specification for Claud Borgourne to drive in the
Kent-Castrol Belgium Touring Car Championship which it won
convincingly, powered then by a 3 litre Westlake v6 engine. It was
returned to England after the sister car of Dave Matthews was
totally destroyed at the 1973 Silverstone Grand Prix meeting. It was
driven by Andy Rouse at the Tourist Trophy meeting and then sold to
Bo Emanuelson who won the Swedish Championship in 1974. In 1975 it
was returned to Ford Cologne and rebuilt to the latest specification
including Ford Ccosworth 24 valve v6 engine developing
460 hp at 8,750 rpm. Again Bo won many races in Sweden and Europe
being faster than Jochen Mass at the Nurburg-ring. However the 1976
Swedish rules imposed a 2 litre limit, and as the car is 3.4 litres, the
car was obsolete in Sweden.
After 22 years in dry storage a complete restoration was
commenced by QM Eengineering in March 2006 which involved stripping
to the bare shell, sand blasting and reinforcing the roll cage then
re-sealing the body painting and exterior in preparation for a total
restoration which included full engine rebuild by Swindon Racing
engines plus - gearbox - rear axle - brakes and all ancilaries, which
has taken fourteen months to complete and is now repainted in ford
