Colour Coding from Renault

Hi guys, another colour coding question from me as I still havent had this done! grrr... If I phoned Lookers Renault in Chelmsford where I bought the car and asked if theyd be able to order me in and then fit colour coded bump strips, do you reckon theyd do it? Ive only just thought this up and since theyre closed for the nite, I thought Id get youre opinions before phoning them in the morning.

Regards,

Adam

They probably will but charge you a fair bit for it best get it done yourself will be cheaper. All they are going to do is get it done by someone else its unlikely they have a paint shop themselves.

Yeah I appriciate that but Id rather have peace of mind and have them do it. Ill phone them for a quote tommorow.

If you want peace of mind then go to a good bodyshop because that is what Renault will probably do and they will charge you double. Why not ask around there is bound to be someone who knows a good paintshop locally. Just get your bump strips from Renault and get them painted and fitted and I bet it will cost you £40 absolute max!! They will get the paintcode from underneath your bonnet and can mix any colour at all no problem.

Renault and paintwork in the same sentence??? SHOCKER!!! (reno Birmingham are beyond crap!!! Seriously need some training there!!)

Id go to an independant Accident Repair place or bodyshop and offer cash!!! (if they want more than £250, walk away)

One thing i can recommend doing is to buy the 172 door strips (theyre smooth to start with and it gives a much better finish)

What happened to the lesson I gave you yesterday? You have forgotten it already!!

Go and stand outside my office and wait for me!!

;)

Colour coding sounds good, but I have maybe a bodykit in plan for the future so no point really?

But I could take of the strips on the sides that say 16V.
This would smooth it out a little.
Are these just stuck on, or are there holes underneath them?

I would have hoped theyd be cleaned and rubbed down at a body shop before they get primed and painted... Got it booked in now anyway! Cheers
