Colour coding

  Clio
I have a black 1.2, i want to colour code the side strips, 172 rear insert, and front mouldings. I have done my front and rear badges which came out really well.

However is there a guide on here for colour coding the car, as im unsure if im able to get rid of the orange peel effect on the plastic.

On a scale of 10 how hard a job is this?

Thanks.

  Jagggg...missing the 182!
not a hard job to 'fill' the grain, just time consuming, building up lots of primer and flatting

never will have a perfect glass surface finish, just take your time

if you are unsure, why not get some parts from a scrap yard and see how they come out plus you will get a bit of confidence, cheaper than going to a body shop which ever way you look at it

go through the grades of wet n dry on the textured plastic... it'll soon go. Don't use high build primer, its a pain in the arse.

What grades would i need, also would i have to sand by hand or is there a quicker method?

then simply add 3 layers of primer, 3 layers of colour, 3 layers of laquar?

take em off sand with about a 120 grit
wash off with alcohol based cleaner
plastic prime them hi build prime
flat with 800 grit
paint + clear coat they will go flat so sand with 1500 then polish with G3 (like t-cut)

simples...
