Colour of Renault Badges

  Clio Sport 172
You'll have to excuse me because I'm quite new to this RS modding stuff.....but can someone tell me how to paint the Renault symbol badges at the front and rear of my 172? :)

The front diamond just pops off if you pull it. The rear is a bit more tricky. You'll need to remove the plastic liner inside the bootlid, then remove the mechanism as a whole.

Ok...cheers buddy! Is there any type of special paint that needs to be used? And do they need to be sanded down before spraying? :S

Plastic primer (i think) is needed and you'll need to sand them but nothing excessive like you need to on the bumper moulds.

Get your self down the local car shop and you will need some 800grit to ruff the badge up then some plastic primer, once that has dried a colour of you choice and then a clear laquer. If you take your time you cant really get it too wrong

you may need some 1200 grit to corrct any mistake/runs in the paintwork

Just mask your rear one up on the car, and cover the majority of the rear end in newspaper.
Its easier than faffing about taking all the plastics off.
+ also, i had a right chore with my front one. Plastic primer doesn't settle properly. I used simoniz grey primer on all of my car plastics/badges/bullets with no problem. Big batch off ebay; 12 cans for 20 bar. ;)
But the front one set, and then formed a skin with wet paint still underneath, even after been left a day to dry.
Anyhoo, halfords primer on that ftw.
