comfort and performance?

  172
Im looking to buy some new wheels and some eibach sportlines/prolines for my phase 2 172. I dont want to trade comfort for handling or handling for comfort. Just looking for a balance of the two if its possible. The last thing i want is discomfort!! Was thinking of 205/45/15 and some sportlines (drop of 40mm). Many people say 205/45/16 and prolines?? Opinions and photos please especially of the 15inch size alloys.

Covered many times on here mate but basically sportlines will be what you want based on your criteria. However, they will only drop your car 30mm (just), not 40.

prolines for comfort and performance with a small drop. and i have some for sale ;)

i have sportlines at the moment, they will not drop 40mm, and they are pretty smooth and comfortable. slightly crashy tho on b-roads, potholes etc.
prolines are your bet bet for comfort and performance

Not wanting to lose ride comfort=pro-lines
Not fussed with small reduction in ride comfort=sportlines
Don't value your spine=Apex

  53 Clio's & counting
id say prolines, thats what i chose and i think there spot on,handle better than standard, and i think they have improved the ride

I have Apex on mine and don't think there that bad, but all my past cars have been silly low and older, Mk2 golf gti etc so i'm finding the clio quite comfortable in comparison.......

Love the Apex on mine, dislike the constant visits to the dentist to get my feckin teeth refilled :D

Prolines for me but then my road is an old briddle path so the sportlines would have caused clearance issues!!

They do make a great deal of difference to handling and they are not bright red like the sportlines (which mattered to me as I wanted to keep the car looking standard)

Check out my for sale thread for arctic blue '04 182 with 15's on it to see what they look like on a car that is fairly low (albeit coilovers, not just springs). It's on at 5425.

If the road surface is nice, any spring and damper are comfort.

Yes, smaller wheel at 15" maybe better.
BTW, never thought drop -30 or more can be comfort.
