Command and conquer 4!

Nice one. If it's as good as the last one, it will be superb. Finally shake off those mind-numbing RA3 memories that keep entering my head....:dead:

Looks good, I love C&C games :D I have the original Red Alert and Red alert Retaliation downloaded on my PSP and PS3.

  MK4 Anni & MK5 Edt30
Series went completely downhill after Red Alert 2 to be honest. Generals onwards are s**te.

Ive given up on Command & Conquer games. EA are just milking the licenses.

The only war RTS games that have managed to keep my attention are: Supreme Commander for its massive maps and the whole Total Annihilation feel. And warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 1 and 2.

Yeah, sorry. RA2 was the last excellent C&C game. Generals was good, but it was no C&C title.

I agree, I can play RA 2 for hours, but the plot seems to hav been lost now with Command and Conquer/Red Alert/Tiberium Wars? Im not a big fan of all this 'future tech vehicles etc..' which seems to be spreading

Gamespot have announced a beta to they're total access subscribers

Anyone else got they're hands on a beta?

Agree completely!

BUT

How could you mention Dawn of War 1 without Company of Heroes!!!
It was miles ahead of other RTS's!

And also RA2 Was backed by EA, the same people from westwood are at EALA as the comments say below.
Many people slate TS which i think is amazing. I liked generals although no it is not a C&C game however that is the same engine TWS is based on and both games are good.
RA2 was great but i dont think as good as RA itself.
I do not like EA tho.

Also both RAs and TS and the warcrafts are all in my top 10 :p

Loved playing RA on PS1, endless hours of hangovercureingnessness.

RA3 I never bothered with after The Tiberium wars stuff. Kains wrath was quite good with the mega units etc though

saw this today but decided against buying it on the fly, glad I did as I had a quick look of the IGN video review and I for one would miss the base building, I can see why they've decided to encourage the fast paced multiplay but that's never been my interest with this style of game. Maybe when this is in the £20 zone I'll get it.

clocked it in two days, worst c&c experience i ever had, and i've played them all, to completion. Doesn't touch the new DOW2 expansion.

I wouldn't say it was terrible, it's just not command and conquer as we know it.

It trying to be a DOW style game, but with c&c units.

The whole ethos of c&c is the base building and unit management side of things, where as c&c4 trying to be more fast paced action, like Halo Wars on the 360.

As i said, it's not completely rubbish, just not what you are used to.

The beta version is ok but its not the complete version, i still dont mind playing it though.
You will need a very good graphics card to have full speed of the game.
Ive restricted graphics on most of it an still it runs slow.
Ill wait for the CD/DVD's to come out as it will have more options on the graphical content.

PC gaming sucks ass big time these days and tbf has for quite some time now.

Lol, hardly. Sure, the Thumb Twiddlers have much more choice to feed their electronic book-ends - but the PC as a platform doesn't 'suck'.

If anything, it's being diluted by the console market - having to have interfaces that suit the bloody 360 controller - to name but one. ;)

disagree, i'm quite accustomed moving from one style of play to another, this one in particular just isn't very good. the unit cap is far too low, the renewable base idea is just annoying because on hard it's just impossible. the different base support class is a good idea, poorly implemented, especially in campaign, as it hardly matters which class you choose as you can take out the enemy regardless. the tiberium acquisition change is stupid when you get a couple of red crystals you can max out all the upgrades in a matter of seconds, no waiting for new tech teirs no sitting there waiting to get to your nukes out, so there is no need to keep acquiring resources. you just hit your unit cap and fight the enemies unit cap. then either win or lose. no skill involved except for micromanaging engineers to get control of the mascadons etc etc.

i'm a massive rts player and this was s**t and far too short. the ending was lame and the fact you have to be online all the time just adds to the negative experience.

It's literally the worst c&c / rts experience since the original. they tried to copy parts of dawn of war and failed. on top of that, i now can't sell it as it's connected to my ea login. absolute waste of money.

RA2 is one of the few games that plays well on my netbook, and that's traveled the last 25,000miles with me. Cured my boredom on many many occasions!

That and Rome:Total War! (which tbh is even better than RA, Vikings rules!)

  ITB BG 182
Ok ive now played this game quiet alot and i have only had it 2 days, it will be going back to the shop as its the worst game ever in my eyes in the lines of C&C.

You must be connected to the internet and have a good connection even if you want to play skirmish games.
There is no tutorial game in this so jump in and struggle like a mofo trying to work it out.
Graphics are abit bob, even with a 1GB graphics card it is not as good as previous games.
There is no way of slowing down the actual game play so the first time is like being slapped very hard and not knowing what it was.
I could name quiet a few other games on this plan like stratergy that is alot better than the hail all new C&C4.

Advise from me, dont bother buying it.
