Why buy a PS3 when you can save £50 on an Xbox and continually send it back to Microsoft and get a refurbished one in return.

Buy the Xbox and run a wire all across youre living room to play online and make do without Blu-Ray films.

Lol because gt5 is garanteed to be epic? Nice bit of speculation there but nobody will know the merits of gt5 until it actually gets released it could be a stinker of a game unlikely yes but there's no evidence whether it'll be good average or poor yet.

The reason xbox seems to be winning is because you said console and not media box. Online gaming on ps3 is like toast made by aldi bread With butter made from residue left on a cows udder mmm it's cheap but tastes like crap, online gaming on xbox is like marks and spencer toast with marmelade made from oranges freshly picked from the hills of Valencia lol you pay a little but your glad once you taste the difference.

they have history with failures, the newer units seem more reliable but in any case they have 3 year warranty on the two common faults.

If it helps GAME are currently selling an Elite which is the top of the range xbox with Forza 3 and Modern Warfare 2 for £199.

That is a excellent deal and I agree that the 360 will probably suit your needs best of the two consoles.

Just get them both mate, the 360 has better games aimed at you at the moment, more people are playing them. I mainly use my PS3 for blu-rays at the moment but also have a few good games and its backward compatible(meaning i can play my old PS2 games on it). The 360 costs you to play online, its only around £30 a year, the PS3 is free.

Once they get GT5 sorted im sure most people on here will rave about the PS3, the 360 is flavour of the month right now.

If you're a casual gamer then both will become fancy paperweights after a month or so... but both will suit your needs fine.

I lvoe both tbh, i use both all the time, some weeks its all ps3, then other weeks its all 360.

Been playing encharted 2 and dirt 2 on the ps3 and then forza 3 and MW2 on the 360.

I'd hate to have to choose between the two tbh now, both have their merits.
