right after speaking to a few members on here i was told you can fit 182 cup shockers to a 182 non cup so just spoke to renault and told me the bolt spacings ar different so wont fit is this correct many thanks

Yep that's correct. Cup ones are 60mm, and non cup are 54mm.

how do i find out if mine is a cup or not?

Measure the distance between the 2 bolts holding the shocks onto the hub. (Centre of each hole)

You can measure from top to top or bottom to bottom on the holes too which is a lot easier.
