Connecting Power Cable To Battery

Anyone had any problems when connecting an amp power cable to the battery as a mate of mine who owns a car audio shop here in Blackpool has told me that if the power cable is put on without taking the negative off first then the airbags may go off.

Also with disconnecting the negative then putting the power cable on and reconnecting the negative may cause the airbag warning light to come on and therefore need to be resetted by Renault.

Anyone had any of these problems?

Cheers

Ive done it countless times when jump starting other cars (2 amp leads so need to take them off for space) and never had the slightest problem.

no need to disconnect the negative AS LONG AS THE POSITIVE DOESNT TOUCH ANY PART OF THE BODY WORK!!!

i would say its defo worth disconnecting the -ive - as if you are touching the body work and you by accident touvh the +ive or something touching the +ive - you get electrocuted (sp - big time!) and it only take a second

better safe than sorry imo
