connector between door and car

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

im trying to fit some decent speaker cable from the front door speakers to an amp, but the only way is through the gromit between the door. this aint a problem but i cant seem to get the plug out so i can get the cable inbetween!

haynes says lift the securing clip then pull, but i cant friggin see a securing clip!

any ideas?

A hammer or saw maybe????

I dont know about the older models but on my new car you have to slide the connector up (i think) was ages ago i did mine.

Should be a square sort of plastic which slides over it from the top, pull this up and the plug can be removed.

its a pain in the ass but its possible, ive done it on mine. here are some pics

undo 2 torx screws

pull outer part up, and inner part out (very fiddly)

get the plug from the inside loose too, and drill through here and the corresponding place on the outer part,

then feed your cable through, and do the almost impossible task of getting it all back together lol
