Malice, when you do this you might have to get brake bias valve plumbed in as its quite often a different pressure sent to the rear if its disks rather than drums, this is often due to differing master cylinders between disc and drum rears brakes. Could solve this completely if you take 16v back axle route, just take take load sensor valve also, so as to avoid rear end lock ups, which are well ropey if it is happening on the foot brake, hence valve. Without this I am pretty sure the rears would lock on any firm application of brake pedal. Not sure if this helps you

i have been thinking of doin this aswell, but after looking at the different components in the valver disc system, im not sure i can be bothered with it at the moment - you will def need the load sensor, and im not sure if the standard cylinder would be up to the job?

if you get figures then i would be very interested in them if you could post them!

As Alex said your best off swapping the rear axle.

There is little point though, the reason you have drums there is because the rear brakes are hardly used, as long as you get some decent front stoppers youll be fine.

whats the point !

it will cost a fair bit and be a lot of hassle, the rear doesnt do much of the braking anywayz, no point spendin any money on it really

the rear 16v axle is a must but not for its disc braking... 4 torsion bars!

want to get a better braking? upgrade at the front not at the back.

i think he was probably lookign for the looks improvement more so than the stopping potential - thats why i was thinking of doing it, because drums look pig ugly!
