coolant drain

gonna do a coolant drain on me car today. just wondering, do you have to drain the cylinder block by taking out the drain plug, or will just taking off the bottom hose surfice??

i cant find the drain plug and if i do , it looks a beatch to get at. how much of the 7 litres capacity is round the cylinder block??

cheers mike

dont have to take the plug out, just bottom hose and flush through for ages. i flush until it comes out clear, then connect and turn engine over for a bit, then flush again, etc.

i might try that then. only thing im thinkin is that ill have to run till its warm and the thermostat opens to let the block water out into the main system when flushin.
