Coolant heating up quickly from cold

Hi peeps,

Ive noticed recently, that when the car is cold or has been sat all day whilst at work.

I will get 5 mins up the road and the coolant temp is almost warmed right up.

​It hasn't ever over heated or anything like that.

Is this normal ? Does anyone else get the same thing ?

Seems strange that the coolant is up to temp that quick ??....

Normal, even when weathers cold mine is up to temp in about 5 mins

Mine is the same, I assumed it was normal.

The oil won't have got up to temp yet though, so don't go nailing it after 5 mins lol

One of the best things about 172/182s in the winter is the quick warm up/heat from blowers compaired to many other cars.

Pretty normal but check your levels just in case they're low on coolant.

sounds pretty normal but you just check your coolant level if ok so do not worry and further if you have any doubt so consult with a car care center.

The time it takes to heat up is irrelevant, as long as it doesn't go above half way then you have nothing to worry about.

True, but it can be a sign of a low coolant level as air heats up faster than water.

Mine gets to about 1 bar below half way and unless you thrash it about then it goes to half way lol

Yh either that or a coolant temp sensor. Car in at BTM in 2 weeks so get it changed then

it's not irrelevant at all! slow warming up can point to a thermostat in poor condition, as many many clios have
