Correct Shocks?

Hi Guys

I currently have a 182 clio which to me looks like it has cup packs...front splitter rear spoiler but dont know for sure....

The car when i bought it is on eibach lowering springs which i could only tell from looking at the make of the springs and of course it looked a little lower than standard.

I have been told my rear shocks are leaking a bit...they look standard to me and i noticed the handling isn't great so want to change them....

Do I buy the OE Cup shocks? or do i need something else, the fronts are O.K apparently...would they be on Cup shocks at the moment ? If i was to get cup shocks and the fronts were just standard? or vice versa could this cause a problem? Is there anyway of really telling apart from the visual differences on the car?

Also I been looking at the history of the car and it says at last service there was some play on the passenger side ball joint....

I need to get someone to change these things, happy to provide parts but want to ensure its all right...I am in Bristol area.

I've spent ages trying to find the difference between cup and normal rear shocks, and while they carry different part numbers nobody could provide any documentation on any physical differences between them, so I assumed there couldn't be enough of a difference to worry about. Providing you change both at the same time you'll be fine.

I sold that 172 years ago have a 182 now lol long story!!

They have different part numbers, but I've found no evidence of a physical difference. Some places (like K Tec) don't differentiate between them.

Thanks mate...is there anyway of telling what they are? I think i can see 35 on the spring itself, would that add up? I didnt buy them you see

If they are red Eibachs they are Sportlines which are a 30mm drop at most. If they are grey Eibachs they are the Pros which don't really have a drop.

Either Eibachs on standard shocks is fine and a common mod on here. Been running Sportlines on mine for a while.

They are probably 35mm then, if they were eibachs it would have it printed on if the paint on them is still ok
I just put prolines on mine the new ones have a 30mm drop all round (demon tweeks)

Ah Yea, i think i can see 35mm on the sides...as long as standard shocks are fine thats great...

Are Eibach good springs then? I have no idea as the car just came with them...

They are excellent good handling but nice comfortable ride as well,and yes arctic blue is a great colour

Yea I noticed that too, it almost feels standard but you get that great lowered look and handling

The blue is definitely better than the silver i had! or Iceberg which i think is the correct name lol
