Cost of a full respray

  RenaultSport 172.
^ if your lucky...

id of said £2.5-3k

prepping makes a good respray...so thats what takes most of the time..

eeek 3k? I'm thinking about a project over the next 12months. Respraying it white, get some 16" turinis done in white, H&R coilies, cams/inlet matching/remap, strip some weight. Want to make it around 190-200bhp/ton. I'll obviously have to do it in stages cos it will cost around 5 grand all in all, but I'm gonna keep the car for a long time and just buy a more practical car in 18 months - 2 years

you can bring the cost down to about £800-£1500 if you spray inside all the appatures yourself with aerosols.

then take it to a bodyshop for just the outside spraying white.

Depends how much you do yourself with respect to the inside and who you know.

Most would charge £2k, if you just left them to it.

I've had mine painted white

The main thing is making sure the spray is perfect otherwise the car is largely ruined

The finish on mine makes the original factory spray job look amateur

Indeed there are all levels of spraying.

The door seals and engine bay aswell as under the bonnet would need to be done for a good job.

As said it takes time for best results. 3k is a little steep though. I reckon you could get it done properly for 2k and have a good job. Depends what your after.

A family friend has now installed his own spray booth, in his garage [warehouse]

I was thinking of going for a nice green like the Porsche GT3 RS.

remember cheap is not always the best with things like this

who ever you go for make sure u do abit of research on the company see how long they have been going, how much experiance they have and what other jobs they have done r like :)

people say X price for a good job. theres no price on good jobs tbh, our bodyshop does some very decent work for a fraction of the cost of a lot of bodyshops whereas if you went to a dealer, you could pay 4x as much for a piss poor job.

its the people who prep and paint its ability, not the cost

for a good quality colour change you'd be talking about 2k to about 3k(engine out),i wouldnt bother doing the door cheques yourself with aersoles cos it will just look crap.
