1st issue:
I was driving down the A1 last week and just come to the end of the road works outside Wethby. Anyhow i was in the outside lane with some prick merc driver up my ass. As i had no where to go and he was obviously on some speed driven mission, i accelorated from 40 to 70mph to clear the inside traffic and move over for him. As i was doing so i glimpsed my STOP sign and ENGINE symbol (i think) flash red a few times. At the time I was concentrating on driving so i put it down to EPS or ESP (whatever traction control) as i was accelorating quickly and going up a curved bank.
I've just come back from the shops, which involved driving up our steet which is a steep bank, and again im getting these two lights. The warning lights only seems to kick in when the cars on a funny angle and more so when the cars moving quickly (ie: pulling away fat or accelorating hard).
2nd issue:
I noticed some of the material which holds the foam sound dampeners in place under the enginne has started to come lose. At closer inspection it appears the foam padding is also coming out. I'm guessing this is just padding around the engine to reduse engine noise but correct me if im wrong. It also appears to have a bit oil around it? It's not dripping or noticable leaking oil but i shouldnt think it suppose to have oil on it.
Oh its a 52reg 172FF. Should i be worried about these problems? I have it booked in for a service/mot in 3 weeks time. Do i need to get this sorted beforehand or can i wait until its due its service?. Also, what could be the problems and how much is this gonna set me back? Looks like Septembers gonna be an expensive month, i already know im gonna need 4 new tyres!

Ripped mine out on last gearbox oil change...didnt have much choice seeing as i over filled it by a litre.
