Couple of questions regarding changing hard drives

ive never changed hard drives in a computer before.

what do you do, copy everythiing from the old one onto the new one so that you still have vista etc??

As far as i know you won't be able to just "copy" the operatin system (vista) over.
 
Buy a new harddrive and install your OS on it. New hard drive becomes Master. Old becomes Slave. Keep your old one in the machine whilst you copy the data that you still need, then format the old one.

Why you trying to change hard drives? If it's just for storage just add another.

Not sure, only used Ghost on older PCs to make drive images and restore them onto replacement drives. Worked OK then, but that was with XP I think. Sure you could just boot to the Vista install disk and do repair installation to fix the replacement drive boot.
