Couple of timing belt questions.

1) I know the pulley holding tool is needed but is it purely for holding the pulleys in place while you undo them?

2) i'll be changing the dephaser pulley at the same time as belt kit etc and wanted to know if its keywayed at all ie, does it go in any position or does it only go on one way?

1) used when holding pulleys to loosen AND tighten them.

2) none of the pulleys are keywayed

years ago the dephasers from renault came unlocked. ive not had one thats not for years but i still alway check!!
